In 2019, the Yorkshire Diamonds Kia Super League women’s cricket team played it’s final fixture. In it’s place, formed the Northern Diamonds which combines three cricket boards from the regions of Yorkshire, Durham and Northumberland to form a squad, competing in the Rachel HeyHoe Flint Trophy in 2020.
The logo I designed incorporates the colours of the three counties in geometric shapes which overall forms a ‘northern-pointing’ diamond. Meticulous spacing between the shapes also spell the initials of the Northern Diamonds. The mono version is used in more instances than a typical mono version of a logo would, intentionally used where possible as it appears more striking on apparel such as, playing shirts, training wear and helmets.
